This project is a follow-up of a
longitudinal study started in 1981 by the Mater Hospital and University of Qld.
The MUSP study investigated mental and physical health in a cohort of
pregnant mothers, and the participants and their offspring have been followed
up at intervals ever since. The GenEpi contribution
to this project involves the collection of blood samples to examine the
relationship between different 'gene' x environment interactions and mental
and physical health outcomes.
This project is in
collaboration with principal investigators from the University of Queensland, Emory University and University of California Los Angeles. The ongoing MUSP project will continue to be
administered by UQ, with QIMR contributing sample collection and genetic
analysis for this specific cohort.
