Population genetics

Population genetics (and evolutionary genetics) deal with occurence of genetic variation in groups of organisms and families, usually natural populations.

• Large ("ideal") idealised groups or populations, where models can be deterministic (though some deterministic models are accurate for even very small populations).
• Small populations, where the role of chance can play a larger role (so called genetic drift).
