          This collaborative conference will take place in Brisbane, Australia, at the Gardens Point campus of the Queensland University of Technology on the 5th and 6th of October 2009.
 
          There is significant expertise within Australia and New Zealand across a broad range of applications in this domain. However, communication is often hampered by distance, dissociation and a lack of specific, accessible conferences.
 

The purpose of this meeting is to assemble researchers to find out what is going on in local research and to facilitate collaboration, integration and resource sharing. This will bring together experts in bioinformatics and statistical genetics from Australia, New Zealand and further afield to share recent groundbreaking discoveries and methods, and to facilitate new research partnerships, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
 
          The Conference Committee is committed to making this a free conference for the sake of accessibility, particularly for students and young researchers. We will not be providing accommodation or travel allowances; however, there will be a drinks and nibbles evening as well as an optional dinner.
